Mizzou-rah!

All-righty then! What a great game, at least the second half was. I really missed Columbia last night knowing that the Independence Bowl win would bring the old town to life. Brad Smith was just magnificent, and oh those interceptions! Mizzou-rah!

How about a little Every True Son? (Click the link for audio)

Every true son, so happy hearted,Skies above us are blue,There's a spirit
so deep within us,Old Missouri here's to you (rah rah!);When the band plays the
Tiger war song,And when the fray is through,We will tramp, tramp, tramp, around
the columns,With a cheer, for Old Mizzou!Hit it, Hooray, Hurrah,Mizzou,
Mizzou,Hooray, Hurrah,Mizzou, Mizzou,Hooray, Hurrah,And a "Bully" for Ol'
Mizzou,Rah, Rah, Rah, Rah,Mizzou-rah, Mizzou-rah, Mizzou-rah,Tigers!"Fight
Tigers"Fight, Tigers, fight for Old Mizzou,Right behind you, everyone is with
you,Break the line and follow down the field,And you'll be, on the top, upon the
top;Fight, Tigers, you will always win,Proudly keep the colors flying skyward,In
the end we'll win the victory,So Tigers, fight for Old Mizzou!

Ava's First Christmas

What a joy to spend Ava's first Christmas with her. Bless her little heart. What an angel. Her grandpa loves her very much. She smiles at me and I melt.

Here she is giving her dad pointers on a video game.

White Christmas

Well, sort of... ran up I-80 from Roseville to Donner Pass. As I passed the 5,000 foot marker, it started snowing. Boy, did it snow. By the time I got to the summit it was a white-out. So, no sweeping vista pix, but here are a few nice ones I got.

A Christmas Greeting

I'm sitting here "thinking" (never my strong suit) about getting out my Christmas cards.

But what I do have is a lovely little Christmas video that you can watch here.

Merry Christmas all!

A Visit to the Monterey Bay Acquarium

A wonderful place to visit and get close to some of God's critters. It is not a wowie zowie sort of facility like the Tennessee State Acquarium in Chattanooga. Nor is it as mamoth as the Shed in Chicago. Its intent is to capture the Monterey Bay and its incredible variety of marine life from jelly fish, to sharks, to sea birds, the amazing sea otters and much more. To that end, it is successful.

I put up a video at Google.

FREEDOM'S THUNDER - Thunderbirds! (The Video is Up)

Just cause I can... this is a nice video with a fabulous subject matter.

For you dial-up types, it takes time for the video to "buffer." Watch the progress bar below the picture. When it has inched out aways, then click the go arrow. If you don't wait for the buffering, the video will stop and go.

I recommend the full-screen mode, the box next to the progress bar.

Enjoy, I sure did.

And After the Seminar...

I ran down to Bixby Bridge. There was an angle or two I had not shot before. It was a bright, sunny and windy day. Got a couple nice shots.

BUT... speaking of the wind... I parked just south of the bridge. When I opened the door, the wind caught my driver door and slammed it open springing the door. Grrrrr....

Anyway, it was still pretty out there.

Saturday Morning...

Today it is off to a mountain-top overlooking Carmel Valley for a legal beagel seminar.

Life certainly could be worse.

I went to this seminar last year and it is held in a just beautiful place. It's cold and crisp there at 2000 feet, especially so today as a cold front has passed through here in the wake of the "storm" the other day. There could well be FROST which is enough to horrify any good coastal Californian.

I put "storm" in quotes, because where I used to live, what we had might have qualified as a Spring shower. We got somewhere between half and one
inch of rain. Back in 'Mazurah' they would not have even noticed such a pittance. If they got a good old fashioned "frog strangler" here the place would shut down for a week.

Well, it makes me smile.

I've got my LL Bean duck boots, wool socks, chamois shirt and a shell all set to wear. Last year I nearly froze. This year I'm By God Prepared!

Stormy Day

The first storm of the season has come ashore today. It has its own strange beauty. But just know that I'm sitting here wrapped in fleece with thick wool socks at my nice warm computer putting up this post. What, you think I'm nuts?
