Small Wonders of Springtime - The Lupines Are Coming Up

This is one of the highlights of the season, the blooming of the wildflowers. Perhaps the prettiest of them all is the Lupine. They are dazzingly purple-blue flowers. They grow with several blooms to each tall stem. When they are in full bloom, fields and pastures become a sea of blue.

It's interesting how your photos are beautiful on a grand scenic scale while mine, because I live in a flat industrial military dump of an area, are more focused and macro and all that zoomed in kind of stuff.

Beautiful! That's the great thing about spring - everything is more colorful then!

Lovely photo, John. Did you ever see the Monty Python sketch about the 'Lupine Express'. Very funny stuff.

Our dogwoods haven't even bloomed yet. I love lupine. In fact, I have some planted in my garden which hasn't quite woken up to spring yet. I'm hopeful this week will see the end of the rain.
